How to Print Button Pin Designs

Choose paper, check button dimensions, and print the sheet at actual size.

Start with the machine specifications

Find the required button size and cut size in the instructions for the button press, die and supplies. For round buttons, both sizes refer to diameters. The finished face is smaller than the paper circle because some paper wraps around the edge.

2.25 inches equals 57.15 mm. It is a separate size from 58 mm. Do not substitute one for the other without checking the equipment specifications. Button and cut sizes come from an editable specification. Presets use supplier reference cut sizes; check your machine specifications, since manufacturers can require different paper sizes for the same finished diameter. The cut size includes wrap allowance and also sets the artwork boundary and layout footprint.

Prepare the artwork

Open the sheet maker and click the blank circle or drop a PNG, JPG or WebP image onto it. In Design, add image layers and move, scale or rotate them. Scroll to scale the selected image; use the toolbar to zoom the canvas. Use the layer list to reorder, hide or lock images. Choose Arrange this design to use the current draft immediately. In Arrange & export, click an empty paper position to use the current design or choose a saved design in the library dialog. Click an existing badge to replace it, or use its remove button on hover or keyboard focus (always visible on touch screens). Use Fill page to repeat a design in empty positions. The blue dashed circle marks the finished face; keep text and important details comfortably inside it. Extend the background to the gray solid cut line so the area between the two circles can wrap around the button.

Each image can be up to 20 MB and 40 megapixels. Paid jobs can contain up to 30 designs, 240 buttons and 40 sheets. Free jobs are limited to one sheet. Divide larger batches into separate jobs. Use an image with enough pixels for the selected crop; enlarging a small image does not add detail. Empty areas of the crop print white.

Choose paper and layout

  • A4: 210 × 297 mm.
  • US Letter: 215.9 × 279.4 mm (8.5 × 11 inches).

Set margins within the printer’s printable area, and leave space between artwork circles. Choose Grid for regular rows and columns, or Compact to compare staggered and grid arrangements. Different designs share one finished and cut diameter. Add pages as needed; changing paper or spacing preserves placed designs in order. Selected designs are snapshots, so later library edits do not change the sheet. Use the page arrows to inspect every sheet.

Download the sheets

PDF is the easiest way to preserve the intended physical page dimensions. Each PDF page matches the selected paper size. PNG exports use 300 DPI: A4 is 2480 × 3508 pixels, and US Letter is 2550 × 3300 pixels. Multiple PNG pages come in one ZIP file.

The cut-line checkbox controls printed cut outlines. The button outline appears only while designing and is excluded from print previews and exports. Blank templates use only the cut outline; keep cut lines enabled to print them.

Print a test at 100%

  1. Select the same paper size in the print dialog.
  2. Choose Actual size or 100%. Disable Fit, Shrink oversized pages, or similar automatic scaling options.
  3. Check the print preview for clipping, especially if the printer cannot print close to the edge.
  4. Print one page on inexpensive paper and measure the cut guide circle with a ruler. Compare it with the cut size you entered.
  5. Make a single test button before printing and pressing the full batch.

A PNG may be resized by photo-printing software even when it contains DPI metadata. Set its physical output size explicitly, or use the PDF if size is hard to control.

Cut and press

Use the paper type and cutting method recommended by the machine supplier. Cut along the configured cut guide, then follow the machine’s loading and pressing instructions. Keep the artwork orientation consistent as you load each piece.

Keep a copy

You can edit, save up to 5 designs in this browser, and choose them from the library to arrange without signing in. The design draft and current arrangement recover after refresh. Sign in to save designs to your account or export: the same library shows which designs are saved to the cloud, and you choose which to save. Free accounts can save 5 cloud designs and export 5 times per UTC calendar month, one sheet at a time. Paid exports consume one page credit per rendered sheet. Export downloads a PDF or PNG; it does not save an editable print task to your account. Clearing site data removes local-only designs and recovery drafts.
